"Holiness does not consist in doing extraordinary things. It consists in accepting, with a smile, whatever Jesus sends us. It consists in accepting and following the will of God." St. Mother Teresa
We should avoid comparing our lives to the lives of others and instead embrace where and who we are because that is where and who God wills us to be.
Holiness does not consist in doing extraordinary things, rather it invites us to accept the ordinary things.
We are all called to accept, but some things are harder to accept.
And by accept I don't mean saying certain circumstances are 'okay.'
I mean accepting the circumstances, knowing they are hard to accept, but accepting them anyway because it's part of God's plan.
I have learned over the years that when I don't accept God's will, I am only making things harder for myself.
Whatever Jesus sends us, God's will be done.
1. Do the will of God 2. Do it in the manner He wills 3. Do it because it is His will
St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton
And as Mother Teresa said it, "Do it with a smile."
